The home I grew up in “My Nanna’s Place” is original
Experience the feeling of how things were in Broken Hill by reading the stories, looking across at the mines, the open land and the railways where The Comet would come in from Sydney. You can also see The Speed E Gas Company that introduced bottled gas and The Silverton Transport Company that would go alongside our fence, to and from the mines several times a day.
Living in a home of 'corrugated iron', with a corner shop and a few minutes walk to “town”, white sheets and everything basic ….we had it all… that was home!!
My Nanna’s Place offers comfortable and affordable accommodation in the heart of Broken Hill, located just a few minutes walking distance to CBD, shops, supermarkets, pubs and clubs.
Our beautifully presented cottage will make you feel right at home regardless of whether you’re here to take in the history and culture of The Silver City, or just passing through.
Broken Hill is well known for its Famous Artists, Mining, Unions and Heritage Buildings and it is a real eye opener for our visitors. Book a bus tour and experience our Railway Museum, White’s Mining Museum, The Silver Tree, The Big Picture, The Royal Doctor Service, Photographic Recollections, The Living Desert & Sculpture's and Silverton where many movies are made.
There is a lot more on offer including walking tours about our heritage buildings and the hotels on every corner.
